Camp Information

The camp is operated by Camp Millhouse Inc., a not-for-profit organization led by a volunteer Board of Directors. The camp was founded in 1937 and held at various locations until 1940 when the late Mr. & Mrs. Charles Millhouse donated ten acres of wooded property in Greene Township of St. Joseph County, ten miles southwest of downtown South Bend, Indiana. The camp has grown to it’s present size of 45 acres through the generosity and nurturing support of the Board of Directors and the surrounding community. Camp Millhouse has survived solely in the support of the community, through fundraisers and other monetary donations and camper fees. Nestled in a rustic clearing surrounded by 45 acres of woods is a special camp for special children and adults... that's where you'll find Camp Millhouse. Every summer since 1937 this camp has served as a retreat for children and young adults with mental and physical disabilities. Parents of these special campers can plan their personal vacations knowing that their children are at a safe, fun-filled and caring American Camping Association (A.C.A.) accredited camp.Camp Millhouse is open from mid-June to mid-August. Applications are accepted April1 through July. A limited number of camperships are available. Please contact us as early as possible.
